Previous Workshops

Our workshop is a continuation of several previous ones on similar topics.

BIRNDL

We have been organising the Bibliometric-enhanced Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing for Digital Libraries since 2016.

• The 1^st BIRNDL was held at JCDL 2016 in Newark, NJ. The workshop proceedings are available the CEUR workshop proceedings publication service and in the ACL Anthology.
• The 2^nd BIRNDL was held at SIGIR 2017 in Tokyo, Japan. The proceedings are available in the CEUR workshop proceedings publication service.
• The 3^rd BIRNDL was held at SIGIR 2018 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The proceedings are available in the CEUR workshop proceedings publication service.
• The 4^th BIRNDL was held at SIGIR 2019 in Paris, France. The proceedings are available in the CEUR workshop proceedings publication service.

We have also organized the following related workshops:

• The 1^st Workshop on text and citation analysis for scholarly digital libraries (NLPIR4DL) at ACL-IJCNLP 2009.
• The 1^st Workshop on Mining Scientific Papers: Computational Linguistics and Bibliometrics (CLBib) at ISSI 2015.
• The 5^th Workshop on Bibliometric-enhanced Information Retrieval (BIR2017) at ECIR 2017. The proceedings are available in the CEUR Workshop Proceeding Series.

WOSP

The Workshop on Mining Scientific Publications has run every year between 2012 and 2018 alongside JCDL, and later LREC.

• The 1^st WOSP was collocated with JCDL 2012 in Washington, DC. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the D-Lib Magazine.
• The 2^nd WOSP was collocated with JCDL 2013 in Indianapolis, IN. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the D-Lib Magazine.
• The 3^rd WOSP was collocated with DL 2014 in London, UK. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the D-Lib Magazine.
• The 4^th WOSP was collocated with JCDL 2015 in Knoxville, TN. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the D-Lib Magazine.
• The 5^th WOSP was collocated with JCDL 2016 in Newark, NJ. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the D-Lib Magazine.
• The 6^th WOSP was collocated with JCDL 2017 in Toronto, ON. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS).
• The 7^th WOSP was collocated with LREC 2018 in Miyazaki, Japan. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the conference book of proceedings.

We have also organized the following related workshop:

• The Workshop on Scholarly Web Mining (SWM), which was held at WSDM 2017 focused on mining and analysing scholarly data on web and social media. The proceedings of the workshop are available in the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS).

TAC

In previous years, the Text Analytics Conference (TAC) at NIST hosted a series of workshops addressing various aspects of text summarization. Most recently, its 2014 Biomedical Summarization track hosted a shared task comparing Biomedicine scientific articles and their citations to other articles.
